About

Elena Gómez de Valcárcel is a prominent ceramic designer who melds craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology, including 3D ceramic printing, to craft unique and innovative pieces, a concept she refers to as "emotional ceramics."

Graduating with honors in Ceramic Design from Central Saint Martins in 2017, she has showcased her work in various exhibitions across Europe, including the British Ceramic Biennial, New Designers, and the London Design Festival.

Her primary goal is to establish an emotional connection between individuals and objects through her creations, achieving a perfect balance between functionality and aesthetics. She is a passionate explorer of the possibilities offered by ceramics, always seeking to push it out of its comfort zone and employ it as a substitute for other conventional materials.

Her work reflects her keen interest in comprehending how people interact with objects and draws inspiration from observing the interaction between humans and their environment. She was selected as a finalist to present her "Family" collection at the Kids Design Award in Germany, served as an artist in residence at Vista Alegre in Portugal, and participated in a cross-cultural exchange in China initiated by BCB and the University of Staffordshire. In 2020, she was chosen as one of the ceramic ambassadors for Future Lights in Ceramics in Europe.

In her most recent project, "Art and Wine Dialogues," presented alongside chef Pablo Gonzalez and DOP Jumilla, she continues to explore new ways of utilizing ceramics while always maintaining that unique emotional connection between individuals and their objects.
